The Taste of Hundested

Hundested’s menu offers fresh fish and locally produced ingredients. At Restaurant Havfruen, you can enjoy a lavish seafood platter or a classic “stjerneskud,” while Spisehuset Knud serves ocean-inspired dishes such as oysters, blue mussels, and butter-fried flatfish. At the harbour, you’ll also find Halsnæs Bryghus, where you can pair classic dishes with live music, comedy, and beer tasting. Brasserie Kyst offers Danish-French-inspired cuisine with a focus on local ingredients.

If you’re in the mood for Asian food, stop by Yo-Yo. If you prefer something truly local, visit Tothaven, where handcrafted ice pops and cheeses are made from fresh goat and cow’s milk from their own dairy. At Torup Spisehus, the menu is based on ingredients from nearby farm shops. If you’d rather cook yourself, shop at MENY in Nørregade or visit one of Halsnæs’ farm shops, where you’ll find everything from fresh vegetables to ribeye steaks. Keep an eye out for signs marked 'Spisekammer Halsnæs.'

For those tempted by shopping, both the harbor area and Nørregade offer small boutiques with designer goods, kitchenware, and clothing. If you’re craving something sweet, try an ice cream from Is Salonen at the harbor, made with fresh milk from Engmosegaard’s cows.

Throughout the year, Hundested hosts various events, including a festival, summer concerts, and a cozy Christmas market both at the harbor and in town.

Here, you have plenty of opportunities to experience nature up close. Visit one of the area’s five beaches, each with its own unique character, from pristine white sand and dunes to shallow waters, family-friendly activities, and hidden gems. Or lace up your hiking boots and explore the wild nature.

Spodsbjerg Lighthouse is a great starting point for a nature experience, offering spectacular views over the Kattegat and the lush hinterland.
