Nestled between Hundested and Frederiksværk, the charming village of Torup is home to the ecological community of Dyssekilde. Here, sustainability, architecture, and a strong sense of community come together in an inspiring atmosphere.

A Sustainable Village Life

In Torup, you can experience how sustainable living and architecture go hand in hand. Stop by Torup Spisehus, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or join a communal meal. The restaurant also offers delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes, always with a focus on organic and locally sourced ingredients.

Books, Art, and a Local Market

Torup has a special love for culture and literature. At Torup Bogby, you can explore antiquarian books, while Kældergalleriet, located beneath the local grocery store, hosts fascinating art exhibitions.

You can also stock up on fresh, local produce at Torup Market at Dyssekilde Station. Here, you can learn about the concept of "kilometer food", which celebrates locally sourced ingredients. The market takes place every other Saturday on even weeks throughout the summer season.

Movement and Well-being in Scenic Surroundings

For those who love to stay active, Torup offers a variety of movement-based activities. Every July, the Torup Movement Festival invites visitors to explore yoga, dance, spiritual singing, and mindful exercise.
