Wedding with a view of the Øresund at Nakkehoved Lighthouse

Get married in a unique and historic setting at Nakkehoved Lighthouse with stunning views of the Øresund, where romance meets breathtaking nature. With several beautiful venue options – from the top of the lighthouse to the beach below – your special day is guaranteed to have an unforgettable atmosphere

Wedding with an exceptional view

Nakkehoved Lighthouse offers several locations for your ceremony:

  • By the flagpole in front of the Western Lighthouse with a sea view.
  • The old lighthouse keeper's house is part of the lighthouse's history.
  • Inside the tower of the Western Lighthouse beneath the large lantern.
  • On the platform around the lantern, 21 meters above the ground (weather permitting).
  • The Eastern Lighthouse is just a few hundred meters from the Western Lighthouse.

All venues are part of the over 250-year-old lighthouse, designed by architect G.D. Anthon and built-in 1772.

Champagne and chocolate after the ceremony

After the ceremony, you can celebrate your new title as a married couple with champagne and chocolate in idyllic surroundings – either at the lighthouse or in the cosy coffee room. Nakkehoved Lighthouse also provides glasses and other necessary equipment, so you can enjoy the moment without worries.

Nakkehoved Lighthouse – A piece of Danish cultural heritage

Built in 1772 by architect G.D. Anthon, the Nakkehoved lighthouses are a national and international rarity. The two protected lighthouses, which are square and built of masonry, are unique examples of Danish lighthouse history. In clear weather, the light from the Western Lighthouse can be seen over 40 kilometres away.

Practical information

If you wish to get married at Nakkehoved Lighthouse, you must arrange for an officiant, witnesses, and the necessary permits yourself. The Gribskov Municipality's marriage office (in Danish)can assist with this. Please note that ceremonies on the platform around the lantern can only occur in good weather, and guest capacity in the tower is limited.
