Children's Frederiksborg | Explore Danish History with Child-Friendly Activities
Discover Frederiksborg's rich cultural heritage through the museum's year-round activities, tailored for both children and families. During school holidays, expect an extra dimension of fun with seasonal and thematic activities designed for the youngest visitors.
History at Children's Level
Frederiksborg Castle offers various activities throughout the year, specifically aimed at children. During school holidays, the museum organizes seasonal or thematic activities for children, complementing the regular offerings. Keep an eye on the current events through 'Det sker' on the museum's website before and during the holidays.
Frederiksborg for the Little Ones
Thoughtfully crafted for the little ones, the museum presents a digital guide that allows families to explore selected areas at their own pace. With both audio and text, stories are introduced based on Christian 4's connection to the castle, as well as Danish kings, queens, and significant events in Danish history.
The stories are presented in both an ultra-short and a more detailed version at rooms, portraits, and history paintings. You can download the museum app SMARTIFY (only available via mobile).
Closer to History
During your museum visit, a unique family experience brings you closer to Danish history. The museum emphasizes preserving the collection, and it's important to respect the rule of not touching exhibited paintings, furniture, and objects.
When exploring the museum, either on guided tours, with an audio guide or independently, children must be accompanied by adults to ensure they can fully enjoy the historical surroundings.
